US President Donald Trump stated that during the operation to detain Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on January 3, American military personnel used a secret development — a sonic "wonder weapon," which, according to him, "no one else has." Trump noted that "it's better not to talk about it," but emphasized that it was an "amazing attack."

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reposted on X an interview with a man who introduced himself as Maduro's bodyguard. He recounted that during Maduro's detention, American special forces used an unknown weapon that caused a "powerful sound wave."

According to the witness, he felt his "head exploding inside," all participants started bleeding from their noses, some even vomited blood, and they couldn't move. The witness emphasized that he had never seen anything like it before.

An anonymous Venezuelan military officer also noted in the New York Post that the Americans used an unfamiliar weapon against the security forces, one they had not encountered before.

In response, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov reported that Russia's relevant services are collecting and analyzing information about such weapons and will provide explanations regarding Trump's statements. He noted:

"You know, we have relevant services whose tasks include collecting information on this matter and analyzing this information. They are doing their job. In this case, we will probably need to hear an explanation regarding what the US President means."
