The drivers of a scheduled bus that arrived at the Medininkai checkpoint (from the Belarusian side — Kamenny Log) declared that they were not carrying anything prohibited. However, customs officers were puzzled by the suspiciously small number of passengers — only 7 people.

During a detailed inspection of the bus, smuggled cigarettes were found in the ceiling of the driver's sleeping compartment, as well as under upholstery, floors, and other structural niches of the bus.

A total of 2500 packs of NZ Gold cigarettes, worth 12,375 euros, were found. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated.

The Vilnius District Court issued rulings for both bus drivers: confiscation of documents, a written promise not to leave Lithuania, and registration with a police institution.
