Grodno's "Neman" Wins Belarusian Super Cup
The owner of the Belarusian Football Cup, Grodno's "Neman", met the Belarusian champion, Vitebsk's "ML", in the Super Cup match.
The match took place at Minsk's "Dinamo-Juni" stadium and ended in a 2:2 draw in regular time. Vitebsk's "ML" was initially leading 2:0, and only towards the end of regular time did the Grodno team equalize.
The fate of the trophy was decided in a penalty shootout. The "Neman" players proved more accurate, winning 5:4. The decisive shot was scored by Ivan Sadovnichy.
The Grodno club, led by Ihar Kavalevich, won the Belarusian Super Cup for the first time in history.
