State Official Changes His Mind About Buying $70,000 VW Touareg for Public Money After Mass Media Criticism
He decided to continue using his old Nissan.
Chairman of Jelsk district executive committee Lieanid Pisanik Belarus changed his mind about purchasing $70,000 Volkswagen Touareg for public money after active criticism in mass media, Euroradio says.
Previously, the administration of Jelsk, Belarus, decided to buy top off road car as “his automobile is rather old”. The corresponding tender was placed on the state purchase web register.
But after criticism and active questions from journalist, the official decided not to buy a new car. The representatives of the administration say he is currently using his old Nissan.
The tender was marked as “erroneous” and annulled.
