Mentor Ihar Kuzminich may become the next victim of “cleansing” in Hrodna State University. He had been holding the position of deputy dean of Faculty of Law until September, 2012.

Besides being a highly qualified expert on law, he has been doing much to widen the usage of Belarusian language: he speaks Belarusian himself, publishes his articles in Belarusian and furthermore writes Belarusian-language fairy-tales.

As Belarusian radio Tvoj Styl reports, Ihar Kuzmin is being forced to voluntarily quit his job. As it became known, the reason for the persecution became Mr. Kuzmin’s fairy-tale about banned Belarusian symbols: Pahonia and white-red-white flag published in his blog.

As reported previously, historian Andrej Charniakievich was fired from the aforementioned university for his book Hrodnaznaustva (Hrodna Studies). Several other book authors were summoned for “a preventive talk” by Belarusian secret services.
