Utility tariffs are being raised
Alexander Lukashenka signed a decree on raising tariffs for housing and communal services.
Utility payments in Belarus will increase by 22.5 rubles — the calculation is made for a family of three living in a two-room apartment of 48 sq. m with standard service consumption.
The increase will take place in two stages:
- from January, tariffs for all services, except heating and hot water, will increase by 19.37 rubles;
- from June, thermal energy for heating and hot water supply will become more expensive — by another 3.13 rubles.
According to calculations by Lukashenka's administration, utility payments will amount to about 3.5% of the income of a family with two working people, and 7.5% for a family of two pensioners.
The system of cashless housing subsidies will be maintained: assistance is due to those whose utility costs exceed 20% of income in the city and 15% in rural areas.
