Julian Assange Seeks Political Asylum in Ecuador

The WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has applied for Ecuador embassy in London for a political asylum.

Assange’s asylum request comes less than a week after the U.K. Supreme Court denied his legal team’s request to re-open his extradition case on a legal technicality, Mashable says.
Thus, Assange has no legal leverages left to avoid the extradition to Sweden. However, Assange and his advocated fears that in case he is sent out to Sweden, he will be immediately extradited to the U.S.A.
Assange, who is accused of espionage in the U.S.A. is afraid that he may be killed there.
