Even the biggest fans and optimists have not expected such a start of FC BATE in the UEFA Champions League.
Midfielder Aliaksandr Valadzko scored the first goal at the very beginning of the first half. This was another reminder for coach Heorhi Kandracjeu, who does not pay much attention to the player.
BATE seemed to retreat after such a good beginning to defend its goal. Lille tried to attack, though unsuccessfully. But Aliaksandr Hlieb managed to hold a successful one.
Then, Edhar Aliakhnovich rolled the third present for Mickael Landreau two minutes before the end of the first half.
An hour after referee’s first whistle Lille scored a goal. It might have begotten the hope in the hearts of “les Dougs” fans. Yet, in vain: the goal scored by French team at home became the first and the last their goal at that match.
