US President Donald Trump, in a phone conversation with a journalist from the Israeli publication The Times of Israel, stated that it would take Iran "several years" to recover after joint US and Israeli strikes. According to him, the operation could last anywhere from two to three days, or significantly longer — it would depend on Washington's decision.

Trump noted that he could either quickly conclude the campaign or continue it longer, and warned: if Iran attempts to resume its nuclear or missile programs, strikes could recur. He emphasized that regardless of the operation's duration, the consequences for Iran would be long-term.
Among the main reasons for initiating the strikes, Trump cited the failure of recent negotiations conducted by his special envoys. He claims that Tehran was allegedly not truly interested in concluding a nuclear deal with the US and at some point backed away from previously agreed positions.
The second reason, according to Trump, was Iran's long-standing actions, which he characterized as hostile. The US President stated that before announcing the operation, he had ordered the collection of data on Iran-related attacks over recent decades.
Additionally, Trump said that Iran had allegedly already begun to restore some of the nuclear facilities that had been previously hit. He also suggested that if the US had not attacked key nuclear facilities last summer, Iran might already possess nuclear weapons.
The US President also reported that his conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was positive.
