Siamashka: Belarus Not to Sell Controlling Interest of MAZ to Russia
The First Vice Prime-Minister of Belarus remains categoric about the privatization.
Uladzimir Siamashka, the First Vice Prime-Minister of Belarus stated that Belarus is not going to sell the controlling interest of Minsk Automobile Plant MAZ to a joint Belarus — Russian holding Rosbelavto, one of the biggest European automotive manufacturers.
In spite of this Mr. Siamashka stated that Belarus is interested MAZ — KamAZ alliance within Rosbelavto holding, but he mentioned that “we refuse to sell the controlling interest. The conditions are different.”
Mr. Siamashka highlighted that the talks on the merge are very tense, but there are only several points to be decided on remained. Mr. Siamashka also said that the enterprises should merge to be competitive on markets, reports RFE/RL
As it was reported before, Uladzimir Siamashka announced that selling the controlling interest of Belaruskali would be “a crime against the nation.”
