“We will never sell the controlling interest of Belaruskali.”
“We will never sell the controlling interest of Belaruskali,” said the First Vice Premier of Belarus Uladzimir Siamashka on May 15.
According to Mr. Siamashka, it would be a crime against the nation, reports BelTA.
Mr. Siamashka has also mentioned that there are no current talks about selling Belaruskali to Indian Potash Ltd, a company that was interested to buy Belaruskali or to conclude a long-term contract with the Belarusian party.
Aliaksandr Lukashenka voiced willingness to sell Belaruskali for $30—32bn on May 8.
“We are ready — I repeat it again — to sell even Belaruskali which is 70—100% profitable. But this is the question of price. And we told the price: today it’s not $30bn, but $32bn. If you are interested, so come. But there are no interested [in acquisition]. Well… let it be so. The enterprise operates, employees receive salaries, we sell potash fertilizers better than any company in the world.”
