When rescuers arrived at the scene, the house was engulfed in open flames and thick smoke. Neighbors reported that an 88-year-old owner might be inside.
Unfortunately, the fire claimed the pensioner's life: he was found without signs of life on the kitchen floor. In addition, the fire destroyed the roof of the house, damaged the ceilings, walls, and property. The cause of the fire is being established.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that prolonged severe frosts often lead to fires in the private sector. Residents often heat their stoves until they glow red, but not all of them are in proper condition. Specialists advise visiting elderly parents and relatives living in private homes, helping with the repair of stoves and electrical wiring, as well as clearing snow from roofs and surrounding areas.
