A many-children father-shift worker from Mazyr, whom they wanted to deprive of parental rights, managed to get his children back

"The first time I will be under great control."

Andrei told his story to "Silnye Novosti" (Strong News) in November. He was in despair: they wanted to deprive him of parental rights for not looking after his children properly.

The man works shifts in the Far East, his wife abuses alcohol, and his middle son ended up in a closed special school: he "mined" a shopping center out of revenge on a classmate.

His eldest child is already 18 years old, and his youngest daughter has been in a social shelter all this time.

But a few days ago, a court hearing took place, where the issues of depriving Andrei and his wife of parental rights were discussed. The decision was nevertheless made in favor of the man — he shared the details.

"The lawyer found some norm in the law, according to which I am not forbidden to leave the children with their grandmother," Andrei said.

He was told that "the first time he will be under great control." He assures that he is ready for this.

After 15 days, when the court decision comes into force, Andrei will take his daughter from the shelter and move with her to his mother's place. The man's sister also promised to help. The girl will have to be transferred to another school — the one two steps from her grandmother's house; Andrei has already arranged this.

His wife was deprived of parental rights, but she can see the children. According to Andrei, "he managed to deter her drinking companions," and now the woman does not drink, she is holding up. If she has no violations or absences from work for a year, there is a chance to restore her rights — Andrei is ready to help with this.

As for the man's shift work trips, he wants to try to keep them. For this, he needs to find a legal way to transfer custody of the children for several months while he works. If it doesn't work out, he will have to quit and look for vacancies at home. Andrei likes his job: he says the management was actively cooperative while the proceedings lasted, sending necessary documents.

"I hope I find a legal way out," the man said.
