On the first day of spring, the Salihorsk reservoir transformed into an arena for the bravest and most hardened athletes. An open tournament in sports winter swimming took place here, gathering enthusiasts of extreme sports and walrus swimming for the second year in a row.

Specifically for the competitions, a 25-meter pool with two lanes was cut into the ice, which still covers the reservoir, not far from the OSVOD rescue station. The main challenge for the swimmers was the water temperature, which on this day held at just +0.5 °C. In such conditions, participants required not only physical endurance but also excellent self-control.
Only athletes who had undergone special hardening training and possessed a corresponding medical certificate were admitted to participate. The youngest swimmer was just 12 years old, and the most experienced was 69.
Women opened the competitions with the first 25-meter swims. The competitions were held in several disciplines:
- freestyle (25 and 50 meters);
- breaststroke (25 and 50 meters);
- butterfly (25 meters).
All participants who dared to plunge into the icy water received commemorative souvenirs from the organizers. And the winners and prize-winners in each age category were awarded medals, diplomas, and special prizes.
