Craftsman's House in Pastavy Sold at Auction for Significantly More Than Its Initial Price
On December 17, an auction took place on the electronic platform of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, during which the former Craftsman's House acquired a new owner, Radio Svaboda noted .

Three potential buyers participated in the auction, and as a result, the building was sold for 51,830 rubles, which is more than double the starting price — just over 21 thousand rubles.
The name of the buyer of the property is not disclosed.
The historic building, erected in the second half of the 18th century, is made in the Baroque style. It has a gabled roof, and the main facade is adorned with a shaped gable with a mansard window. The project was developed by the Italian architect Giuseppe Sacco, who at one time worked at the court of King Stanisław August Poniatowski and participated in the formation of Pastavy's central square.
According to the terms of sale, the new owner is obliged to sign a protective commitment within one month. Previously, the building was owned by the enterprise "Belsayuzdruk". The house itself passes into private ownership, and the land beneath it — about three hundred square meters — will be leased for a period of 50 years.
The building can be adapted for housing or used for various social, commercial, or tourist purposes — for example, to open a shop, hotel, medical, or sports center.
Both ordinary citizens of Belarus and other countries, as well as legal entities of any form of ownership, could participate in the bidding.
This was the second attempt to sell the Craftsman's House: the previous auction in November did not take place due to the absence of potential buyers, although the starting price was twice as high then.
The building is located in the historic center of Pastavy, on the site of the former market. Although a significant part of the old architectural ensemble was destroyed in the mid-20th century, several buildings have been preserved and are included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of Belarus.
