The Ministry of Health of Belarus has put the healthcare system into a state of heightened readiness. This decision was made against the backdrop of the announced "red" danger level for January 9 due to heavy snowfall and gusty winds.

The Ministry reported that the heads of the main healthcare departments of the regions, the Minsk Healthcare Committee, and subordinate institutions were given operational tasks to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the medical system.
Particular attention is given to:
- checking the readiness of autonomous power sources;
- strengthening duty and dispatch services at emergency medical stations and hospital admission departments;
- forming a reserve of ambulance teams in case of an increase in the number of calls.
Also, a separate block of tasks concerns logistics: medical institutions must ensure the clearing of snow from roads and access routes to hospitals, admission departments, trauma centers, and ambulance stations.
Cyclone "Uli," which has covered the country, led Belgidromet (Belarusian Hydrometeorological Center) to declare a red danger level for the first time in the last six months. Heavy snow is falling in most parts of the country; very heavy snow is expected in the southeastern regions at night. In some places, blizzards and snow drifts are anticipated on the roads. During the day, wind gusts will be 15–20 m/s, and at night — up to 24 m/s. Particularly severe weather is expected in the capital: snow, blizzards, drifts, and gusty winds.
