Kadyrov's kidneys failed, Kremlin looking for a new head of Chechnya — GUR
The health of Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic, has deteriorated due to kidney failure; the Kremlin is discussing potential candidates for his position, writes "Ukrinform" citing an anonymous source in the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The report states that due to kidney failure, Kadyrov is undergoing dialysis, and doctors offer no prognoses.
According to sources in the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kadyrov is currently in his own hospital in Chechnya, and members of his family clan have gathered, including those from other countries.
Against the backdrop of Kadyrov's poor health, the process of identifying candidates for the position of the new head of Chechnya has significantly intensified.
Among the most likely and convenient candidates for the Kremlin are Magomed Daudov, Apti Alaudinov, and Ramzan's eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov.
Recently, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, appointed his 20-year-old son Akhmat to the position of acting deputy chairman of the republic's government, while retaining his post as Minister of Sports.
As early as 2024, the publication "Novaya Gazeta Europe" reported that Ramzan Kadyrov was terminally ill.
