In the new season, automatic speed restrictions will apply to scooters. In certain areas of the city – in parks, squares and embankments – the speed will automatically decrease to 15 km/h. At the same time, the maximum speed of electric scooters will not exceed 25 km/h.
According to Alexander Kalyada, a representative of the Whoosh service, special zones have also been designated in the city to enhance pedestrian safety. In addition, at some intersections, the speed will be forcibly reduced to 7 km/h to reduce the risk of accidents with cars.
Updated traffic rules for electric scooter users and cyclists are already in force in Belarus. They came into effect on September 1, 2025. These rules define speed limits, the order of movement on sidewalks and bike paths, as well as rules for crossing intersections.
If users violate the rules, rental services will apply measures: first a warning, and in extreme cases — account blocking.
According to rental service statistics, most electric scooter users are people aged 25-35. They often use scooters to get from the subway to work or to quickly move around the city center between different locations.
