In the Rechytsa district, they plan to demolish a bus stop with a unique mosaic

An initiative dedicated to preserving Soviet-era bus stops and promoting Belarus's monumental heritage has reported the threat of destruction to an unusual pavilion in the village of Halouki, Rechytsa district.
The bus stop is located on the M10 highway, where road reconstruction is currently underway. It is precisely due to these construction works that the object may be demolished.
The pavilion's special value comes from a mosaic panel from the Soviet period. The fairytale-like composition makes this bus stop truly distinctive — unlike the modern, typical concrete structures now being mass-installed along roads.
According to activists, the pavilion in Halouki is one of the most valuable objects threatened with demolition this year. The initiative published photos shared by subscribers: in them, people pose against the mosaic. The bus stop has already become a popular location for tourists.
Currently, the initiative is preparing documents to grant the pavilion the status of a historical and cultural heritage site.
“If successful, the bus stop will be saved. If not, we will try to save at least the mosaic itself,” activists note.
In the comments under the publication, dozens of users supported the idea of preserving the bus stop and urged not to destroy a rare example of monumental art.
