Pavel Maisevich could become the 19th Belarusian in the world's strongest hockey league since 1992.

Vegas General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced the signing of a three-year entry-level contract with Belarusian goalkeeper Pavel Maisevich, according to the club's press service.
On March 19, SKA (St. Petersburg) hockey club and Pavel Maisevich terminated the contract at the initiative of the player.
Pavel was selected by "Vegas" in the third round of the 2024 NHL draft (83rd overall pick).
This season, Pavel did not play for the main SKA team in the KHL. He played 10 matches in the All-Russian Hockey League for "SKA-Neva", saving 91.7% of shots.
If Pavel moves to the NHL, he will become the 19th Belarusian hockey player in the world's strongest hockey league since 1992. However, an entry-level contract means that Maisevich might not play immediately, but start in an affiliate club.
This season, seven Belarusians are playing in the NHL:
Alexei Protas ("Washington"), Yegor Sharangovich ("Calgary"), Vlad Kolyachonok ("Boston"), Artyom Levshunov ("Chicago"), Ilya Solovyov ("Pittsburgh") and two goalkeepers: Nikita Talapila ("Vancouver") and Alexei Kolosov ("Philadelphia").
However, Talapila and Kolosov did not play much in the NHL this season. Nikita has 15 games, Alexei has only four.
Regarding Maisevich's club, the "Vegas Golden Knights" were founded in 2017 (based in Paradise, a suburb of Las Vegas), reached the Stanley Cup final in their first year, losing to "Washington", and won the Stanley Cup in 2023.
