An incident during Chernobyl disaster commemoration demonstration resulted in detentions.
A photo of young people snatching out LGBT activists' flag, made by Uladz Hrydzin, caused colossal hype in social networks. The incident occurred during Charnoblski Shliah, a traditional Chernobyl disaster commemoration demonstration in Belarus.
Charnoblski Shliah organizers asked LGBT activists not to use their symbolics during demonstration. However the request was ignored.
Such actions upset some young people (who are reported to be soccer fans) and they tried to take the rainbow flags away.
The most interesting detail is that the youths' actions became the reason for Young Front (a Belarusian youth political party) activists detention.
The incident gave a strong impulse for discussion of possible cooperation of LGBT movement activists and KGB to discredit political opposition — a tactic used even during the USSR period.
