Aeroflot is not considering the acquisition of Belarus' state-owned airline Belavia, Vitaly Savelyev, CEO of Russia's largest carrier, said on May 15.
“This matter has not been considered by Aeroflot, as there have been no official applications. We have no results concerning Belavia and we are not discussing anything,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Speaking this past April, Belarusian Transport Minister Ivan Shcherba said that Belavia had been offered a link-up with a Russian carrier, but the Belarusian government did not plan to accept the proposal so far.
Mr. Shcherba said earlier this month that Belavia would remain a state-owned company until at least 2014.
