Cooperation with Vietnam will help Belarus enter the markets of Southeast Asia, Chairman of the House of Representatives Uladzimir Andrejchanka said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Dang Huy Tran on 24 May.
The Speaker of the Belarusian parliament noted that Belarusian–Vietnamese relations are vibrant. The presidents of the two countries as well as members of the parliaments have paid mutual visits. According to Uladzimir Andrejchanka, the main thing is Vietnam’s assistance in Belarus’ getting a status of an observer in ASEAN IPA. The Chairman of the House of Representatives stressed that ASEAN members (countries of Southeast Asia) are over 1 billion people, which means a new huge market. “We will continue our cooperation with Vietnam to enter other markets of the region,” Uladzimir Andrejchanka said.
The Speaker informed that Belarus expects an official visit of Cambodian MPs on 19-22 June. On 29 May-1 June a task force of the National Assembly of Belarus on cooperation with the Parliament of Vietnam will pay a visit to Vietnam.
Uladzimir Andrejchanka thanked the Vietnamese diplomat for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations. Dang Huy Tran is completing his diplomatic mission in Belarus.
The Vietnamese Ambassador, in turn, thanked Uladzimir Andrejchanka for kind words. He noted that Belarusian-Vietnamese contacts and mutual visits demonstrate continuous development of relations. Vietnam and Belarus have been able to build up a reliable legal framework of bilateral relations.
