Belarus supplied products at “domestic prices”
Belarus has never supplied ready-made agricultural products to Russia at knock-down prices, the Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Ivan Bambiza said in his speech at the research to practice conference “Topical problems of Union State development” in Saint Petersburg on 30 May.
Ivan Bambiza underlined that Belarusian agricultural products are supplied to Russia to be sold at domestic prices of the Russian wholesale market. To make it happen, every week a commission is convened by the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry to monitor prices on the neighboring market. The system used to monitor and control prices in Belarus is very strict, said the official. He added that competition is behind the periodical accusations of price dumping on the part of Belarusian manufacturers.
In turn, Franc Klincevich, Deputy Chairman of the Information Policy Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, remarked that agricultural practices in Belarus are rather more advanced than those in Russia whether someone may like it or not. He believes the Russian government should provide more profound support to agriculture the way it is done in Belarus.
