The production is promised to be eco-friendly
The Italian factory Forrec will build a waste tyre processing plant in Minsk Region. The relevant agreement was signed by Forrec founder Marco Zoccarato and Director General of the Minsk Region Technopark Vadzim Hanchar in the Minsk oblast executive committee on 1 June.
A new plant will be constructed at the base of the Minsk Region Technopark. “A great amount of used tyres accumulate in country. This figure reaches 50,000 tonnes per year. The annual tyre processing stood at nearly 15,000 tonnes in 2010-2011. Thus, it is possible to imagine what volume of waste tyres piles up on the territory of the country and how important the construction of a similar processing plant is for us,” Vadzim Hanchar noted.
The head of the technopark stressed that in selecting equipment the focus was made on environmental security and high-quality product. “Today we are confident that the new processing plant will be export-oriented. We have agreements with European and CIS companies that are ready to acquire the total produce,” he said.
According to the document, the company will be able to reach its designed capacity (4 tonnes of waste tyres an hour) in October 2012. “The construction is underway. It will be over in July 2012. Equipment will be installed in August-September,” Vadzim Hanchar said.
Forrec founder Marco Zoccarato noted that for Italy it is important to partake in the implementation of such a big project in Belarus and expressed hope that this project will become the first step in establishing efficient cooperation.
“Italy has been using processing technologies of the kind for almost 20 years. Besides, Italy pays close attention to such productions to be eco-friendly, and our equipment meets the necessary requirements,” he said.
As for the use of the product of the processing plant, the Italian official said that it can be applied in various industrial sectors, for instance, in the production of asphalt, isolated and antinoise materials, rubber footwear and other rubber goods.
Total investment in the project will exceed €5 million (credit means of the Italian company). According to the specialists, the pay-back period will make up 3 years.
Minsk Oblast Governor Barys Batura stressed that vibrant cooperation between the two countries push Belarusian companies to closer relationship with Italian companies. In 2011 Minsk Oblast-Italy trade totaled $160 million.
“The project is of high importance for Belarus. Let the signed agreement become the first stage of further fruitful cooperation,” the Governor stressed suggesting the Italian side possible construction of processing plants for used refrigerators and household appliances in Belarus.
