The festival is to gathermore than 100 museums
Eight Belarusian museums have joined the competition program of the prestigious international Intermuseum-2012 festival held in Moscow on June 1–5.
This year’s forum features the National Art Museum, National History Museum, Niasvizh Palace and Park Ensemble, the Mir Castle, Janka Kupala's State literary Museum, the State Museum of the History of the Belarusian literature, Lida History and Art Museum and the National Polack History and culture Museum-Reserve. Each one has a separate stand.
More than hundreds of museums from the CIS countries participate in the festival every year. Major tour operators, tourism associations and organizations involved in tourism have been invited to participate in the exhibition and business program. The current festival is held under the motto: “The cultural space is the space of trust.” Its main theme is integration of museums in the tourism industry.
This is the third time Belarus has participated in the festival. First it was the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War. In 2011, it was joined by three other museums. This year the number of participants on behalf of Belarus is even more. A year ago the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War and the Viciebsk regional local lore museum won first prizes in several competition programs at Intermuseum.
