At its eighth meeting held in Beijing, China, on June 5, the SCO Interbank Association unanimously voted to grant Belarsubank the status of partner bank, said the Belarusian bank’s press office.
Belarusbank became the first bank in the world to get the status within the Association established in 2005, according to the report.
The Interbank Association unites leading financial institutions of the SCO member countries: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The Association has described the signing of the partnership agreement with the Belarusian bank as a landmark event kicking off a new stage in the development of the alliance, which aims to establish partnership ties with all countries that are interested in closer cooperation with the SCO, said the press office.
