However, the contract may be concluded only in case of a considerable price reduction.
Russian corporation Sistema, the stock owner of the network provider MTS (MobilnyeTeleSistemy [MobileTeleSystems]) is still interested in acquisition of the state-owned stock of Belarusian MTS.
However, Sistema will settle the bargain only in case if Belarusian authorities will decrease the price drastically.
“We still want to buy the share, but the price set by Belarusian authorities does not suit us completely,” said the President of Sistema Mikhail Shamolin.
“The cost we expect is significantly lower. I would not like to estimate, but we think of price decreased by several times.”
Belarus estimated its 51% share at $1bln. MTS (in Belarus) was established by Beltelekam (the national network provider) with 51% share and OAO MTS from Russia with 49% share.
