Siamashka: Belarus Meets Payment Obligations on Gas Imports

Belarus fulfills its payment obligations timely and in full under the contracts on gas and electricity imports, asserted First Vice Premier of Belarus Uladzimir on June 22.

“It has become possible due to the signing of the agreements on the common market of oil and oil products and on the order of setting prices and tariffs on natural gas transportation in the Single Economic Space (SES) in 2011,” Uladzimir Siamashka said.

In accordance with the documents, the price for the imported gas at the border made up $165.6 per 1,000 cubic meters in 2012. It is lower the 2011 annual average when the price was $263.5. This is also twice as small as the projected prices for 2012 — $330-340 per 1,000 cubic meters (if the intergovernmental agreements had not been signed).
