Putin Str. to Appear in Bethlehem

The decision to name a street in Bethlehem after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin was voiced during the President’s meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian National Authority. The Holy Bible describes Bethlehem as the city where Jesus Christ was born.

A new Russian cultural and educational centre funded by Moscow was opened in Bethlehem.

RFE\RL also reports that a street in another Palestinian town Jericho is named after Dmitry Medvedev.
