The ruling by British judge confirmed Samsung did not steal iPad’s design.
Apple Inc. was obliged to publish a notice on that Samsung did not copied iPad design for its Galaxy Tab series on the Apple web site and also in British newspapers. The verdict was made by judge Colin Birrs on July 9.
The notice on the Apple web site must not be withdrawn within six months’ term.
The order means Apple will have to publish “an advertisement” for Samsung, Richard Hacon, a lawyer for Cupertino, California-based Apple, told the court. “No company likes to refer to a rival on its website,” Bloomberg reports.
Noting that Galaxy Tab does not violate Apple design patients, the judge also mentioned that Samsung tabs are unlikely to be confused with ones by Apple as they are “not as cool”.
Mr. Birrs also refused to satisfy Samsung’s request to prohibit Apple accusing Samsung of design copying mentioning that Apple possesses a right to has its own opinion.
Apple Inc. may appeal the ruling by Colin Birrs.
