Though previous one yield results, the new bonds will not appear soon, Finance Ministry says.
Belarus is not planning any bond floats on foreign markets in the near future, Belarusian Finance Ministry informs.
“There are positive trends regarding the yield on the sovereign bonds Belarus issued earlier. This is, of course, a positive signal and positive evaluation of the economic situation in the country. We are happy about it, without doubt. But I think that it is too early to speak about the next issue of bonds,”Maksim Jermalovich, Deputy Finance Minister, noted.
However, the deputy minister did not rule out such a possibility but noted the need to control the debt level.
“I am more concerned about the state of the global financial market rather than the bond yields. We see that it is shrinking and insuring its risks. That is why, given the state of the European financial market and the American financial market, placing bonds any time soon will not make economic sense,”Maxim Jermalovich said.
“I do not know what the situation is going to be in three or six months. We will keep an eye on the markets. If the situation on the global financial market improves, we may consider a new bond issue.”
