Brothers Bahdanovich Bring Belarus Men’s 1,000 Meters Canoe Duo Silver

This is the 10th Olympic medal won by Belarusian athletes.

Belarus' canoe duo of Andrej and Aliaksandr Bahdanovich finished second in the men’s 1000 meters on Thursday, earning a 10th medal for Belarus at the London Olympics.

The brothers, who won gold at the 2008 Beijing Games, clocked a time of three minutes, 35.2 seconds, 1.4 seconds behind winners Peter Kretschmer and Kurt Kuschela of Germany and 1.2 seconds ahead of bronze medalists Aleksei Korovashkov and Ilya Pervukhin of Russia.

Belarus' medal tally included three gold, three silver and four bronze medals as of Thursday afternoon.
