Belarusian gold-winning shot putter commented on doping scandal.
Belarusian shot putter Nadzieja Astapchuk said in an interview with Belarusian TV channel ANT that she is distracted and “does not understand what has happened”. She also noted that she was doping probed according to international standards in late July and her results “were clean”, Euroradio says.
Now Astapchuk is waiting the return of Belarusian Olympic delegation. She hopes she will be explained the details and the decision on further actions will be made.
As it was previously reported, the International Olympic Committee decided to withdraw the gold medal won by Astapchuk on August 6 as a prohibited steroid methenalone was detected in her doping probes.
