Journalists managed to visit the Museum of Modern Belarusian Statehood.
Belarusian photographer Uladzimir Chudziancou has published a photo of Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s diplomatic passport exhibited in the recently opened Museum of Modern Belarusian Statehood.
The Museum of Modern Belarusian Statehood was established in the building of the Presidential Administration and received its first visitors — Aliaksandr Lukashenka and a delegation of Belarusian students — on June 22, 2012.
However, it is not as easy to visit this museum as any other: one must provide a pack of documents which are to be checked within 3 days’ term.
However, going back to the diplomatic passport of Lukashenka, it is worth mentioning that a number of questions arise after seeing it.
Firstly, English variant of the president’s name was transcribed from Russian. However, according to the set rules it had had to be transcribed from Belarusian which is the national language.
Secondly, Mahiliou is mentioned as the president’s birthplace despite the fact Lukashenka was born the village of Kopys, Orsha district, Viciebsk region.
Thirdly, Lukashenka was born on August 30, 1954. The passport confirms the fact. However, now official sources say it happened the next day: on August 31! There are talks Lukashenka “adjusted” his birthday to celebrate it together with his younger son Mikalaj.
Finally, there is no obligatory personal number of the passport.
The exhibited passport was issued in 1997 and expired in 2002. The passport was given to the museum after this.
