Halting grey schemes of oil products export from Belarus yields results.
The foreign trade balance of the Republic of Belarus has made only $23.2mln in July what shows drastic decrease by circa 18.5 times compared to the same indicator in June, the National Statistic Committee Belstat's report says.
According to the statistical reports, the exports plummeted from $4.22 in June to $3.95bln. The difference between two months is as much as $266.9mln, onliner.by reports.
Meanwhile imports have increased by $140.7mln: $3.79 in June vs. $3.930 in July. It caused the collapse of positive foreign trade balance from $430.8mln in June to $23.2mln in July.
Such a drastic decrease may be explained by ceasing the illegal import of thinners and solvents and grease substances made from Russian oil products without paying export duty to Russia.
However, it should be mentioned that there were some shipments of Russian naphtha to Belarus in July. However, such shipments were completely halted in August, so August’s statistics is going to be more deplorable.
