The Central Election Commission had accredited 271 international observers for Belarus' House of Representatives (the Parliament’s lower chamber) elections as of September 3.
208 of them were the members of the observation mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and 50 were the members of the observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
Other observers are representing the election authorities of other countries, including three representatives of Russia's central election commission, two representatives of Armenia's central election commission, two representatives of Kazakhstan's central election commission, two representatives of Latvia's central election commission and one representative of the central election commission of Moldova. In addition, international observer status was granted to three independent observers.
A total of 3,690 domestic observers had been registered as of September 3. Of them, 3,272 had been accredited with precinct election commissions, 413 with district election commissions and five with the central election commission.
