It was decided to celebrate the opening of a new supermarket Susiedzi on the outskirts of Minsk with a free giant 500kg cake. Everyone was promised to be given a piece. However, the organizers probably didn’t take into account Belarusian love for freebie and bad transport connection with the district.
All the factors resulted into giant traffic jams on the way to the supermarket and hundreds of cars parked on narrow streets of Navinki (and even at the only bus stop).
The wisest customers, however, decided not to join a thousand-person line and simply bought a cake in the supermarket.
