Five passengers were killed and a driver suffered injuries when an automobile they were riding in veered off the road into a ditch and rolled over several times in the Brest region late on September 8.
The deadly accident happened in the Kamianiec district close to the Polish border. The BMW crashed after the 24-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, traffic police informs.
Four of the car’s five passengers were thrown out of the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene. The fifth passenger, a 16-year-old girl, was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle to be wearing a seatbelt during the crash, was hospitalized with a head injury and internal bleeding.
