State Company for Leather Industries is interested to cooperate with leather and footwear companies in Minsk, Al-Azeri Majid Abd Al-Nabi Rashid, director general of the Iraqi company, said Wednesday in Minsk while meeting with Liudmila Ciahlavaja, deputy head of the Belarusian State Light Industry Concern (Bielliehpram).
On Thursday, the Iraqi businessman visited Minsk Industrial Leather Association and private footwear company Active Shoes to familiarize himself with their production facilities and exchange experience, the Bielliehpram press office informed.
Al-Azeri Majid Abd Al-Nabi Rashid expressed an interest in cooperating with manufacturers of leather goods and special fabrics and is scheduled to visit AAT Halanteja and AAT Mogotex on Thursday, the press office said.
He is the first Iraqi businessperson who has ever visited companies under the authority of Bielliehpram, the press office noted.
The visit was stipulated by agreements that were reached in Minsk in June during the first meeting of the Belarusian-Iraqi Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in 10 years.
