Belarusian and Russian paratroopers are holding a joint exercise in the Pskov province in northwestern Russia.
The event, which began on September 25, features personnel of the 383rd Airmobile Battalion of the Brest-based 38th Guards Independent Mobile Brigade and a regiment of the 76th Airborne and Assault Division based in Pskov, according to the Belarusian defense ministry's press office, BelaPAN informs.
The exercise is expected to involve live-fire practice, the press office said.
As Delfi.lt informs, Russian Colonel Roman Ilyasov was killed during exercise on September 24. The truck he was in was hit by a falling tree. The incident is said to have taken place when the imitation of the road blocking was performed. However, the truck did not manage to stop in time and was hit by a heavy tree.
