Belarus will have a zero-deficit budget in 2013, Aliaksandr Antanienka, the Chairman of the Committee on Budget, Finance and Tax Policy in the House of Representatives, told reporters in Minsk on September 26.
He said that next year budget revenues would increase proportionately to GDP growth.
While opening the committee's meeting on Wednesday, Mr. Antanienka said that expenditures on healthcare, science and education were projected to increase in 2013.
The government has worked on the draft budget for next year since this spring and, despite this month's parliamentary elections, members of the House of Representatives have been actively involved in the work, Mr. Antanienka said.
The draft budget was submitted to the lower parliamentary chamber on September 25. It is expected to be passed by the outgoing House of Representatives at its fall session, which opens on October 2.
