Belarus continues exporting Russian oil products as diluents without paying duty to Russia despite assurance Belarus has halted the business, Reuters says.
“They have said they understood (our concerns) but they have not understood anything. They keep pumping solvents (abroad). We are talking about millions of tonnes,” the anonymous source in the Russian government said.
The source has also estimated the losses of the Russian budget at $1bln. The total quantity of shadow oil export reaches 3bln tones, the source says.
Previously, Belarus’ PM Mikhail Miasnikovich said that “the last trainload [of solvents] left on August 4.”
Mikhail Miasnikovich is going to discuss the issue with Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev on this Friday at the CIS summit in Kyiv, Ukraine.
