A Belarusian state-funded enterprise under the Presidential Office — which, as previously reported, was intending to buy a brand new black 64GB iPhone 5 for public money — seemingly has changed its mind as the notice for purchasing the device was removed.
Yesterday Onliner reported that the enterprise invited tenders for a somewhat pricy in Belarus phone.
When asked whether they really need the phone, the enterprise representatives answered positively. However, it was not clarified why a state enterprise needs such a pricy phone.
Earlier this year Lukashenka ordered Belarusian state audit bodies to monitor incomes and expenses of Belarusians.
“There are loads of automobiles around, mainly new. This happens when the people are poor. Where are they from? [They] Either steal or evade paying taxes!” Lukashenka says.
Lukashenka also told the officials to spare budget money: “No automobiles, no gasoline, no office renovations. They’d better implement some economic project.”
