Monument to Steve Jobs Unveiled on Black Sea Coast

A monument to the cofounder of Apple, Steve Jobs, has been unveiled in Ukraine's Black Sea port city of Odessa.

The monument was unveiled on October 5, the first anniversary of Jobs' death at the age of 56.

The two-meter-tall monument is an assemblage of CDs and parts from computers, cars, and bikes in the form of a hand with the Apple symbol and a heart in the middle.

The monument was placed on the campus of the State Technical Academy.

The students of the academy initiated the project.

Odessa's deputy mayor, Olena Pavlova, said at the ceremony that the first monument to Jobs in Ukraine is a tribute to the memory of “a great man who proved that nothing is impossible.”
