Hurricane Blackouts Thousands of Homes, Damages Cathedral Roof

Storm wind damaged on Saturday the roof of the Saint Safija Cathedral of in Polack, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

Several hundred villages and small towns — mainly in the Viciebks region — were cut from electricity which suffered from the hurricane most.

The wind gusted to 15–22 meters per second on October 6 night, sometimes up to 28 meters per second, naviny.by says.
