Uladzimir Makiej was included on the European Union’s blacklist on January 31, 2011, when the 27-nation bloc revived the sanctions against Belarusian regime. At that time, Uladzimir Makiej was the head of the Presidential Administration, BelaPAN informs.
On August 20, 2012, he — still blacklisted — was appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Yesterday, on October 15, the 3191st EU Foreign Affairs Council Meeting in Luxembourg decided to extend the sanctions against Belarusian regime until October 31, 2013.
