Aliaksandr Lukashenka during the press-conference for Russian regional journalists mentioned that the ex-head of the Mossad (Israel’s National Intelligence Agency) had his liver transplanted in Belarus. “I don’t want to name the last example, but it will probably be a widely-known one,” Lukashenka mentioned while he told about the success of Belarusian transplantology. “The former head of the Mossad wasn’t operated anywhere — he needed a liver transplantation. Ten days have passed since the cooperation. Only Belarus agreed to perform the surgery. America refused, Germany refused, Sweden refused. But they all recommended Alieh Rumo [the chief of Belarusian centre of transplantation of organs and tissues — NN].” The Embassy of Israel has no information on the operation, BelaPAN says. The representatives of organs and tissues transplantation centre confirmed there was a citizen of Israel operated on in the centre. However, they advised to contact the Ministry of Health Care for further information. Yet, the ministry currently keeps silence. Lukashenka did not specify who of the ex-Mossad directors exactly was operated in Belarus. However, of ten ex-Mossad heads, seven are still alive.
