Uzbekistan Hosts Will Pay $2 Daily for Each Tourist as Government Introduces New Tax
Uzbekistan authorities decided to introduce the tax on tourists, Lenta.ru informs.
The new fee amounted $2 per every tourist per day will be collected from the units which provide the accommodation for tourists. They are hotels, tourist complexes, camps, boarding houses, etc.
The decision on the new tax takes effect on October 15.
The tax money are aimed at Uzbekistan tourism development.
As Uzbekturizm informs, ca. 1mln tourists visited the country in 2011.
