Meir Dagan, 67, underwent a liver transplantation in organs and tissues transplantation centre in Minsk. The operation was performed by a French surgeon assisted by Israeli doctors. Dagan’s condition was estimated as very bad.
Dagan’s associates say they choose Belarus for the surgery as he would have had to wait for a liver for too long in Germany or the USA. In Israel, such liver transplantation is allowed to persons under 65 years’ old. But the transplant was found in Belarus.
Meir Dagan’s location was unveiled by President Aliaksandr Lukashenka live at the press conference for Russian regional journalist on October 16.
